| My first experience with The African Grey was fifteen years ago when I boarded my two birds for two weeks. When I returned, I found my birds clean, well-fed and in an immaculate cage, which I had brought in less than pristine. Over the years, I have bought two birds, a grey and a lilac crest amazon from Karen, the owner. She always remembers the names and breeds of my birds, their personalities and quirks. She trims feathers and beaks and nails free for all birds who have been purchased from her.
Nicole, the manager, and Karen are both hands-on with all the stock, kissing and petting and hand-feeding them, preparing them to go to a loving home. I have seen them climb into the aviaries to scrub them down to sparkling clean.
On weekends, customers come in with their birds just to visit and hang-out. It's family day!
Their stock and knowledge of food and bird accessories is accurate and reliable.
Any bird owner or prospective bird owner should feel confident that any transaction with the African Grey will be flawless.

I bought Fawkes (left) from the African Grey Pet Shop, and just can't say enough good things about them! Karen and her staff nurtured my girl for months before she was ready to come home with me. She's tame, friendly, and happy. I know I can always get advice and help from the Grey. The amount and variety of merchandise, foods, accessories~ virtually anything I could need for Fawkes~ is at the Grey, and at competitive prices (even with the Internet!).

Update: A year later I bought Cinders (right) at the Grey, a Timneh African Grey whose owners couldn't keep him any more. He's been a great little guy!

I've been very impressed by the knowledge and care provided by African Grey Bird Shop. You can call or take you bird to them with any questions or problems you may be having and the advice has been extremely helpful. I bought a baby Senegal parrot from them last spring and it has been so much fun learning how to bottle feed and care for him. They've answered all my new bird parent questions and I couldn't be happier.

I bought my African Grey Parrot Buddi from the African Grey shop in Denver in 2003 and she has been a great joy to me ever since and continues to grow constantly in her personality and vocabulary. Karen and her staff have been a valuable resource for me and my bird and I've learned alot from them. I know I can rely upon Karen and her staff anytime, whether a behavioral or a food related question, or a referral to a good vet they are always willing to talk to me and offer suggestions. Buddi and I have moved across country twice and she has done very well and enjoys car travel. She is a very resilient little grey. Even when I lived on the West Coast, I could always call the African Grey Birdshop here in Denver and ask questions or get some much needed advice when I had a concern. Having lived in another state and been to many other parrot shops, I can say the African Grey is one of the best and very personable, too. My bird is eight years old now, and has always been well behaved. The African Grey did a great job with her even though I was her second owner, and she has turned out to be a lovely little lady. I hope to have many more years with her great company. Thank you so much Karen for this little bundle of joy.
